Meet Recap

The Elkhart Central Boys Track team was near the top of the standings all night and finished 3rd place at Sectionals with 78 points. In addition, at least 13 Blue Blazers have qualified for next week’s Regional meet in Kokomo.

NIC MVP JT Webb picked up where he left off last week by winning the 100 and long jump, taking 3rd in the 200, and running a strong leg in the 3rd place 4×100 meter relay team with Bernard Gilbert, Desmond Johnson, and Adam Moon. Gilbert will join Webb at Regionals next week after taking 2nd in the long jump and Mikey Holtz will do the same after taking 2nd in the pole vault.

Other automatic qualifiers include Luis Perez in the 800 and as a member of the 3rd place 4×800 meter relay team with Elias Soto, Christian Taylor, and Adam Delks.

Pending the results of tonight’s Sectional meet in Kokomo, the following athletes could still qualify for Regionals: Nathan Dibley (4th, 1600), Josh Harris (7th, 300 hurdles), Adam Moon (5th, 200), Tycory Edwards (6th, high jump), Seth Collings (high jump), and the 4×400 meter relay team of Christian Taylor, Adam Delks, Luis Perez, and Kyran Pearson.
