The Notre Dame Women’s Basketball team earned an 86-54 win last night over Pitt. Why is that score showing up in the Elkhart Central Athletics web site? The Blue Blazer Cheerleaders and Pep Band provided an electric atmosphere for the team at Purcell Pavilion.
For the fifth straight season, the two components that help make North Side Gym one of the most difficult places to play in Indiana brought their talents to South Bend. They were so impressive last night that they have been invited back to two games for next season.
“It is an amazing experience for our athletes and band members to play for such a big crowd and in a collegiate setting,” said head cheerleading coach Haley Warstler. “I had over 20 compliments from fans and Notre Dame staff on how fantastic our kids were.”
Senior cheerleader Augusta Upp said it was a very fun and “hype” atmosphere. “My favorite parts of the night were stunting in front of the crowd and throwing t-shirts into the stands,” said Upp. “The fans kept telling us how much they enjoyed our band and cheerleaders.”
